Vitrified tiles are normally made from clay, but they have extra ingredients, like silica, quartz, and feldspar. These mixture is fired inside a kiln, they will melt and form a glass substrate all over the tile. This glass film makes vitrified tiles very strong and smooth, with lesser pores in their surfaces than ceramic tiles.
Routine Maintenance of Vitrified Tiles
Vitrified tiles are resistant to most of the chemicals (except hydrofluoric acid and its derivatives). Thus, commercially available detergents can also be used for regular maintenance and cleaning. However, use water to damper the tiles and joints when using a strong chemical agents in order to avoid staining, especially in the case of lighter coloured tiles. Any spills and stains on tiles must be removed immediately. If you let them dry then it may become difficult to remove the stains completely, especially for the polished tiles.
